Denver Post report the other day said that Sikhs who are agitating for a separate Sikh state were suspected of planting a bomb in a passenger bus bound for New Delhi, at Chandigarh killing 13 men and injuring about 30. The most lamentable feature of the news was that there has been no hesitation or compunction on the part of the press to publish the “suspicion” of the police, but nobody ever bothered to know what the Sikhs, the so called militants, thought about the incident.
I do agree that there is a good amount of logic behind the suspicion of the police, but unfortunately, it is twice as justifiable to assume that the whole episode was the handiwork of the government who is known to get such nefarious tasks accomplished through specially trained military and police personnel, and other agents; firstly to defame and discredit the Sikhs in the eyes of the public Hindus and Sikhs alike, and secondly to stealthily further their policy of “General annihilation of Sikhs”, on this pretext.
The open confession of the former Inspector General of Police J. Riberio has now amply confirmed the Sikhs claim that the notorious “criminals” in the Indian jails are enlisted, by the government in Special Hit Squads, to kill the Sikh Freedom fighters, The un precendently barbarous treatment of the government towards a minority, violating all civilized norms and basic human rights, killing and jailing of men, women and children without warrants desecrating religious shrines and raping women and girls at the point of gun can only ignite the feelings of hate and vengeance. Naturally countless innocents on both sides, will unnecessarily be killed; but consequently, the fact remains that the demand of “Khalistan” under the prevailing circumstances, is seemingly the only honorable option left to the Sikhs, as was left “Pakistan” for the Muslim league in 1947.
Should the majority Hindus not change their communal stance and chauvinism under the patronage of Arya Smajic cult, the country will keep on being sliced out into small segments until the short sighted majority Hindus learns that “secularism” alone can succeed in 4 multi religious and multicultural country like India and that Hindu fundamentalism under the influence of fanatic Arya Smajic cult and BJP and so on organizations are counterproductive elements to the Unity, Love, Cooperation and Understanding. With the inculcation of such sincere, Gandhian national character alone, they might in the distant future, win even Pakistan and Bangladesh. AK. Khalsa Denver Co
