Sir,

Yes, India Abroad has been known to write derogatory things about our heroes and interests. But is it not in the nature of small minds to insult those who are bigger and better? Apparently it boosts their ego. Haven’t you witnessed those comical scenes of tiny dogs noisily threatening bigger dogs and the bigger dogs go about their business jauntily and’ unconcerned sniffing and saluting every bush in the little dog’s territory!

If New York Times wrote ill about the Sikhs it will be a fight worth fighting for. But why should we pay any attention to every charge sheet put together by some juveniles for their amusement, or to sell groceries and Gulab Jamans Besides, there will always be the unscrupulous who prey upon and exploit people’s fears and prejudices.

Incidentally, “that gossip you read” is a well-known diversionary tactic of our detractors it got quite a few Sikhs very upset, and they momentarily lost sight of their main fight. But Sikhs are intelligent enough to see through such smoke screens of falsehood; we don’t have to answer every cheap shot, and accept every invitation to fight!

It does not take even an iota from our regard and reverence of our heroes. The false charges do make us mad but that is precisely what the enemy wants get the Sikhs upset to gain an advantage in what may well be his last fight!

It does not matter what they say as to whether Kehar Singh went to gallows walking erect or shivering: The enemies of Sikhs probably would have liked to have him tortured even more! They are welcome to their brand of humanity their justice and their sense of fair play let them sink even more.

Let us fight fights of our own choosing, let us fight fights on our own terms; and on our own turf: Let us fight fights which we can win; and Let us not dignity trashy charges, by answering them.
