Sir,
This refers to the claim of Dr.
Karan Singh that he is a great devotee of Sri Harmandir Sahib and that he has close relations with the Sikh Nation. 1 would also like to make some points on his charge that reports in the World Sikh News would damage Hindu Sikh amity.
Dr. Karan Singh knows full well that Hindus burnt Sikh, women and children included alive after sprinkling them with petrol. Many hundred volumes of the holiest scriptures including the Guru Granth Sahib were hurt by the Indian government. Dr. Singh was a silent spectator to all this.
The ambassador refers to his forefathers, Raja Dhian Singh and Gulab Singh’s notable services to Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Is this true? Many eminent historians document how these Dogras were responsible for the downfall of the Sikh nation and the subsequent annexation of Punjab by the British. These Dogras were traitors to the Khalsa Durbar.
It is a pity Dr. Singh pleads for Hindu Sikh unity. The Sikhs gave everything to protect Hindus. But now the Hindus have become cruel rulers over Sikhs, The Sikhs are a separate nation and are not Hindus,
Dr. Karan Singh knows that even on June 2, 1984 at his last press conference held at the Sri Akal Takhat, Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale made it clear that the acceptance of the Anandpur Sahib Resolution was a must as Sikhs did not want to live as second class citizens in India, The demand for Khalistan would be a reality only if the. Vatican of the Sikhs the Golden Temple and Akal Takht were attacked by the Indian armed forces, the sant had said. Indira Gandhi ordered Operation Bluestar in which the army and navy commandos bombarded the holy shrine, More than 10,000 innocent pilgrims lost their lives, Their bodies were heaped and mass cremated using petrol. Even General Dyer after the 1919 massacre at Jallianwala Bagh at Amritsar handed over the bodies of the victims to their families.
What kind of Sikh devotee does Dr. Karan Singh consider himself? Why did he keep quiet and where was he then?
Dr. Singh must not try to fool Sikhs. His fabricated statements will only add fuel to the fire. Sikhs should know that Dr. Singh is following in the footprints of his forefathers Dogras Dhian Singh and Gulab Singh.
Finally, would Dr. Singh make known his true stand on the Sikh Nation.
Sincerely, Lachman S. Aujla
