Sir,
At the moment it is not known what the outcome of Amritsar talks will be, V.P. Singh seems serious in solving the Punjab problem and settling the Babri Masjid dispute,
Indra’s desperate moves to win the 85% Hindu vote, to perpetrate here dynastic rule brought India on the verge of country’s disintegration. During 42 years of Congress (I) rule under Nehru Dynasty, communalism was exploited under the bogey of secularism for the purpose of getting votes, Nehru exploited the minorities against the Hindu majority and Indra exploited the majority by painting the minorities as separatists and saboteurs and used it as an excuse to persecute the minorities.
Y.P. Singh and his associates have an uphill task to regain the mutual trust between the Hindu Majority and minorities. Right now more than acceptance of demands healing touch and nursing of wounds is needed. Appointment of a Muslim as Home minister is a right step.
There are always checks and balances in the constitution. Nehru Dynasty in collaboration with bureaucrats strangled all these checks and balances. They converted the free and independent judiciary into committed (to the government) Judiciary. They framed such laws. and passed such ordinances that all the fundamental rights were curbed.
A bold —just and firm policy is needed to clear the mess created by the ambitious rulers of India Rajiv and his henchmen can go to any length to stop V.P. Singh from doing so. Even physical elimination of V.P. Singh and his team and then blaming them on Sikhsis not ruled out. So V.P. Singh has to be more alert and keep watch on their activities,
The question is what Sikhs should do now. Can this democratic process alter the picture. [hope it is positive. Basically what Sikhs want safeguards out identity and an area and environment where Sikhs can prosper economically participate politically and worship freely. Sikhs want all these amenities for every citizen of India. There should be safeguards against possibilities of any mad ruler persecuting the minorities.
Climate is favorable. The vacuum created by the failure of used and exhausted Akali leadership to lead at the time of crisis has been filled up with firm energetic leadership. Let us give time to new leadership to organize and prepare the Sikh masses for the changed role elections to SGPC will further clean the mess. New enlightened leadership of the SGPC may help produce preachers and also help the economic development of the community. Our freedom fighters should give a chance for this process to work. If this trial fails road to revolution is always open. Sikhs being organized and equipped will be in a better shape to fight for their rights.
Hindu majority must have learnt a lesson by now. We all know policy of hatred and use of force has brought India at the point of disintegration. This is a god sent opportunity for all of us to sit and talk together.
Hindus should remember India is not their personal property. Minorities are not aliens. They are either converts or came from other countries generations back like Aryans. They are as good citizens as the majority is. They are equally patriotic and participated in the freedom struggle. It is a sin to label them as separatists saboteurs or terrorists or traitors for personal reasons, Let us remember what Baba Nanak said.
All human beings are equal.
Alternatively India will be disintegrated.
