President Yasser Arafat

Dear Mr. President,
Sir, your hesitation, nay silence, to condemn clearly and forthrightly the killings in Indian occupied Kashmir and Punjab is a repudiation of the Palestinian cause.
There is nothing wrong with you liking and socializing with the idol worshipping Indian Brahmin Ruling Elite (who incidentally believe in the worst kind of apartheid the Hindu caste system with its thousands of Gods) and wanting their support on the issue of Palestine. But, the Kashmiris and the Punjabi Sikhs (who believe in one God) like freedom also and when the Indian rulers get in the way by shooting, torturing and burning innocent people alive (please see attached photographs Appx. “A” and “B”) you who symbolize the right of self-determination and freedom for the people of Palestine, ought to be true to your ideals and say so clearly and forthrightly
Your private argument that it is necessary for you to maintain cordial relations with the Indian rulers in order to exert a moderating influence does not hold ground as India celebrated your recent visit by murdering, according to our information, forty nine innocent Kashmiri men, women and children and injuring over a hundred in a period of 24 hours even the Indian government acknowledges the murder of twenty two in the enclosed New York Times report dated March 30, 1990, (Appx).
Good relations with the bigoted rulers of a poor, overpopulated, third rate South Asian power like India or the ruthless ruler of a first rate military power like the Soviet Union is a prudent objective to pursue. But NOT at the price of muting the universal principles of human rights self-determination and freedom which apply not only to Palestinians but also to Kashmiris, Sikhs, Lithuanians and the Afghans.
Yours sincerely,
- Shaikh President
cc:To Foreign Ministers and leading newspapers of Muslim countries with a plea for help lest your and President Yasser Arafat’s continued silence encourages the fascist Indian rulers to continue with the genocide of the Kashmiris and the Sikhs in South Asia in this instance silence is a crime!
