From Our Correspondents AMRITSAR: Giving a “last call” “to the Akal Takht Jathedar, Mr. Darshan Singh and the Akali leaders to “join the struggle for Khalistan” the five members “Panthic Committee”’: x ‘warned them against obstructing the militants struggle.
A signed statement issued on the letter pad of the “committee” by Bhai Gumman Singh Bundala here today said Mr. Darshan Singh and certain “so called” Akali leaders who were still making appeals. To the militants to stop the armed struggle were “anti Sikh.” Posing questions to the Akal Takht Jathedar the “committee” asked him: why he had satisfied himself only with a peaceful gherao “ofsthe Batala police station and suspended the agitation after the transfer of the police chief.
The “Committee” told the Jathedar and the Akali leaders that they would never be able to restore: the honor of Sikhs and achieve power through “peaceful means”. “You are asked for the last time to join the militants struggle failing ‘which you would be considered an. obstacle in the path adopted by the “Committee” and be eliminated, “said the statement which also struck a threatening note to newsmen if it was not carried in newspapers.
