New Delhi: A recent report in Moscow revealed that the rest while Soviet Union’s secret agency, K.G.B, gave half a million dollars to leaders of the Communist Party of India in two installments in 1989 alone.
The payment was a part of Soviet Union’s financing of major communist groups in different countries including the U.K., U.K., France, Finland, Portugal, Greece, Israel etc. The first installment of three Lakh dollars was given on Jan 25, 1989 and the second of two lakh dollars on June 1, 1989. There had been wide spread knowledge of Soviet financing of Indias Communist party but its leaders had been denying the charges. The Soviet money instead of helping the CPI and other Communist GROUPs actually ended their mass homes according to observe because party leaders became virtual pensioners and were diverse from the grass roots realities of the Indian situation.
