This year, like all past years, Khalsa Diwan Society, 8000 Ross Street, Vancouver celebrated the birth of the Khalsa with great pomp and show. About 35,000 Singh’s listened to the MahaNagar Kirtan. About 300 Sikh children marched wearing ‘Kesri’ outfits. These Sikh children attended the Nagar Kirtan, raised slogans that added to the joy of the Sangat.

Historical Arms, which were brought from England, were displayed at the occasion. John Perez, a minister from Canada sent congratulations on the birthday of the Khalsa. Mike Hermons, Mayor of city of Vancouver attended the gurdwara and congratulated the Sikhs. Mart Quibi,      chairman of B. C. Solidarity sent good wishes to the community. The procession was about 21, miles long and the Sangat was served fruit and tea in Punjab Market. Kirtan was performed throughout the night.

Amrit Sanchar

63 Persons were initiated with Amrit at 4:00 o’clock in the morning on April 7.
