CHICAGO: The Sikh American community of Chicago held their annual family picnic on Saturday August 24 at Deer Grove East Forest preserves in Palatine Illinois. Over 400 Sikh community members participated in this day of on site barbecue and fun filled sports activities for the children. The event was sponsored by Sikh religious society of Chicago and coordinated by Rajinder Singh Mago and Mohinder jit Singh Saini. The activities included children’s races ladies spoon and marble race couple’s three legged race threading the needle race toss musical chairs race tug of war and volleyball tournament. The prizes to the winners were distributed by the senior Citizens of the community present at the picnic.
