CHANDIGARH: Harjit Singh alias Fauji, acting chief of Khalistan Commando Force
(Panjwar) and his two area commanders were killed in Ropar district Last week.
In an hour long encounter near Boor Majra in Ropar district, security forces gunned down Harjit Singh, alias Fauji, acting chief of KCF who carried a reward of R.s 10 lakh on his head, Daljit Singh, area commander of Uttar Pradesh, and Sukhjit Singh alias Gulshan, area commander of Majha zone. District police chief Ajit Singh Sandhu said the militants operated in Tamm Taran, Majitha, Amritsar, Batala, Jalandhar and Kapurthala in Punjab and Puranpur, Pilibhit, Lakimpur, Bajpur, Shahjahanpur and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.
The police chief said Sukhjit Singh, who was wanted in more than 300 cases, also carried a reward of R.s five lakh on his head. He was area commander of Majha zone in Punjab.
