KHARAR (ROPAR): All the seven accused in the Katia kidnapping and molestation case, including Gurkirat Singh, grandson of the Punjab Chief Minister, have been remanded to police custody till September 20.
Mr. Walia, while hearing the case, ordered the accused to remove the mufflers from their faces, He questioned, “what is wrong with your faces, remove the overs immediately.” Each of the accused removed his muffler as his name was spoken by the judge. But, in accordance with rules, the newspaper photographers were not allowed to click shots inside the court room.
It may be recalled that Katia had identified Gurkirat Singh, Manjinder Singh alias Don and Sukhwinder Singh, during the identification parade held in Burail Jail at Chandigarh, as those among who had kidnapped her and attempted rape.
