SRINAGAR: Efforts continued Tuesday to secure the release of the Indian Oil Corporation, ¢executive director, K Doraiswamy but neither the guvnor his captors reported any breakthrough.
The govt is awaiting a satisfactory response from the captors who have extended indefinitely the deadline for exchanging Doraiswamy with seven more militants. Govt wants implementation of an agreement under which he was to be let off and five jailed militants were to be released in exchange.
As Doraiswamy entered 26th day in captivity, the crisis management committee headed by the state governor, G C Saxena continued its efforts to secure his safe release while the whereabouts of the intermediary siddique were not known.
Official sources said that the committee held series of meetings since Monday following fresh demands of the Ikhwan-ul-Muslimeen to release seven more militants including Javed Ahmed Shalla.
