UNITED NATIONS, (PTI) Indian and Pakistan clashed in the United Nations when Pakistan raised the issue of Kashmir while it was discussing the programmer of action for the second decade to combat racism, elimination of racial discrimination and the issue of decolonization.

The Pakistani delegate, Anisa Zeb, referred to what she called the unresolved question of Jammu and Kashmir and said Pakistan would continue to seek a peaceful settlement of the dispute in accordance with the right of the people there to decide their future.

Exercising its right of reply, India said Jammu and Kashmir was an integral part of India and the principle of self-determination could not be applied it. This is the second time that India and Pakistan have clashed over Kashmir. Pakistan had earlier raised the issue in the general assembly.
