JAMMU: At least 3,000 passengers were stranded at 300 kms long Jammu Sringar national highway which had been blocked for vehicular traffic since Wednesday morning.
Heavy landslides at Samroli, 78 kms from here, have virtually cut off the Kashmir valley from the rest of the country, reports said.
The border road organization (BRO) men have been deployed to clear the highway police said. About 300 trucks, 70 buses and 30 taxies were stranded at number of places.
Meanwhile trucks carrying essential commodities from Jammu to Srinagar could not reach Srinagar. The heavy rains and snowfall which lashed entire Jammu region had caused the landslides.
