TOPEKA: A delegation of the Midwest Sikh Association (MSA) lead by its president Habhajan Singh Hundal met U.S. House Speaker Thomas Foley along with Kansas Congressman Jim Slattery (D) at Topeka, Kansas earlier this month. The delegation appraised the speaker about the true picture of the so-called world’s largest democracy India. Sikhs are being killed in fake police encounter, and brutally tortured. The government of Rajiv Gandhi covers up the genocide in its state-run media, the delegation told Mr. Foley, a democratic congressman from Washington. The delegation requested Mr. Foley to investigate thoroughly the well-planned and organized Indian government’s war against a religious minority, the Sikhs, Mr. Foley promised to support the India H.R. Bill and investigate the disturbing situation in Punjab. He appreciated the concern of the Sikhs in U.S. over the Punjab situation. He thanked the farm state Sikh group for educating him about the misuse of American taxpayer’s aid to India in view of the gross abuse of American values by the Indian government. Other members of the delegation were, Darshan S. Sarai, Daljit S. Jawa, and Rabinderpal Singh.
