LUCKNOW: Chief Minister of the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh on March 27 denied that any temple was demolished at Ayodhya during the ongoing leveling of the acquired land.

The disputed shrine was “intact and safe” as assured in the national integration council meeting the chief minister told newsmen here.

He said members of the standing committee of the national integration council “are heartily welcome” to visit Ayodhya at any time and see for themselves that the state government stood by all assurances given at the NIC meeting.

He said efforts were afoot to find an amicable solution to the dispute. Invitation shave already been extended to the All India Babri Masjid Action Committee and the All India Babri Masjid Movement Coordination Committee by the state energy minister Lalji Tandon to find a negotiated settlement.
