Chandigarh; The Akal Takhat Jathedar Bhai Gurdev Singh has exonerated convener All India Sikh Student Federation Mr. Harinder Singh Kahlon, but has declared Bhai Wassan Singh one of the five members of Panthic Committee as Tankhaya, Bhai Gurdev Singh gave his verdict after hearing both the leaders who were summoned to Akal Takht a few days back. The charges against A.I.S.S.F convener was that he had at a press conference made some critical reference to the Akal Takht Jathedar accusing him of playing a one sided role in the factional fight the A.I.S.S.F while taking exception to those remarks Jethedar Akal Takht asked Kahlon to explain why action should not be taken against him for undermining the authority of the Akal Takht. The similar sheet was served Wasson Singh. Mr. Kahlon arrived at the Akal Takht along with A.I.S.S.F workers were Bhai Gurdev Singh was waiting with five Piaras. Bhai Bhakshish Singh, Head Granthi Akal Takht read out the charges which included using intemperate language. Mr. Kahlon, how ‘ever, denied the charge and respectfully submitted that the alleged intemperate language was used by A press reporter to which he did not respond.
The Jathedar was satisfied with the explanation and exonerated him. Mr. Wassan Singh was declared tankhayia as he had given a written statement to the press, He was asked to clean shoes of the Sangat for his demeanor for five days and to recite additional oath for five days. Mr. Wassan Singh accepted the verdict but maintained that he was not guilty.
