BHOPAL, India, Sept. 14, Reuter; An Indian judge hearing the Bhopal gas disaster ‘case on Monday set an October 30 deadline to settle a three billion dollar compensation dispute.

Doe said Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) and the Indian government should reach a “just and overall settlement” by that date for 526,000 claimants, after a deadly gas leak from a Union Carbide Plant in Bhopal in December, 1984.
