PATNA (PTI) The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (MM) decided to withdraw from the national front but agreed to abstain from voting in the presidential election in an apparent bid to stem dissidence and possible split in the party.

Briefing reporters on the party’s central committees meeting here the IMM vice-president Suraj Mandal said that the party also decided not to participate in the legislative council polls in Bihar on July 21.

The dissidents had backed the Janata Dal in the July seven polls for the Rajya sabha upper house of Indian parliament) despite the party having fielded the former union minister of state for home Subodh Kant Sahay for a Rajya sabha seat

Jharkhand Mukhti Morcha is a political outfit campaigning for the formation of Jharkhand state by carving out portions from Bihar and some surrounding states.
