JAMMU: Leading militant organisations in Kashmir have again spumed New Delhi’s offer for a negotiated settlement of the current crisis in the valley and have pledged to carry on the struggle for Azaadi (freedom) to its logical conclusion, come what may.
The stand of the various militant organisations comes close on the heels of the Prime Minister, Mr Chandra Shekhar’s recent announcement of some action plan for defusing the crisis in Kashmir.
In separate statements, the People’s League, Al Umar, Muslim Conference, Al Barq and Hizbe Islami have categorically announced that nothing short of a liberated Kashmir was acceptable to them.
The Peoples League, whose chief Shabbir Shah is under detention in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, has, in an oblique reference to the National Conference and Congress (I) leaders, said that the perpetual traitors of Kashmir are active again, weaving a net of conspiracy but they must know that the struggle for ‘Azaadi’ will continue.
