NEW DELHI (PTI): In militant related violence over a week ago, six persons were killed and 41 subversives nabbed in the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Two persons were killed and 11 militants nabbed as Syed Ali Shah Geelani, veteran Jamaat E islami leader returned to the hospital from where he had “disappeared” in the Kashmir valley since March 14.
The Kashmir valley observed a near total bandh (closure) for the second successive day to protest against the alleged “custodial deaths” of top militants in Snnagar recently.
Four houses and a school building were set ablaze during the period.
