RANCHI (PTI): The indefinite “economic blockade” called by the All Party Jharkhand State Struggle Committee (APJSSC) on March 19 with transportation of Bauxite from Lohardagga and Gumla districts continuing to remain “by and large” crippled.

Lohardagga deputy commissioner, said that the movement of aluminum was “completely paralyzed” following a blast on the Lohardagga  Ranchi meter gauge section of the south eastern railway Tuesday, and blowing up of the ropeways transporting bauxite from a mine of the Indian aluminum company (Indalco) Thursday.

In New Delhi, Jharkhand leaders from the eastern state of Bihar staged a four-hour ‘Dharna’ (sit in) Friday morning at the main gate of Parliament demanding creation of a separate state for tribals.

They also protested against the repressive measures undertaken by the Bihar government to crush their Current movement in support of the demand.
