RANCHI (EASTERN INDIA) (PTI): Agitationists supporting a 48-hour general closure (Bandh) in the mineral-rich Jharkhand region of Bihar state damaged railway tracks with explosives and disrupted road traffic on the second day Nov.24.

Two persons were injured in the accidents.

A senior police officer said the agitators blasted up-line fish plate between Kita and Silli railway stations on the south eastern railway using Gelatine on Tuesday morning.

Agitators attacked a truck with petrol bombs near the residence of the inspector-general of police Chhotanagpur Range in Ranchi seriously injuring the driver of the truck police said.

Yet another explosion was reported from Pandara near Ranchi. But no one was injured the police officer said.

Altogether 33 activists of the All Jharkhand Students Union and the Jharkhand Peoples Party have been nabbed.

Meanwhile the AJSU chief Dr.Deo Sharan Bhagat has threatened “large scale violence” in the coming days in the proposed Jharkhand areas if the federal government failed to table a “Jharkhand bill for formation of a separate Jharkhand state in the current parliament session.
