NEW DELHI: Former Prime Minister VP Singh’s Janata Dal asked the Bharatiya Janata Party govt in Uttar Pradesh not to take any precipitate step on the Ayodhya temple-mosque issue.
It warned that the party would mobilize public opinion in Uttar Pradesh to ensure that no harm was done to the 16th century mosque, where BJP has promised to build a temple.
The problem should be solved either by court or through negotiations, Dal spokesman S_Jaipal Reddy said.
