SIFE students and members along with their sponsor, Mr. Pritpal Singh Chatha made presentations of their programs at Wiley College, Marshall, Texas on March 3, 1986.
SIFE Sponsor, Mr. Chatha and members Mr. Ron Bell presented the SIFE Projects about “Free Enterprise,” “Introduction to Si FE,” “Halt the Deficit,” and SIFECAW “Citizens Against Waste.” Mr. Bishop Goddings distributed the literature on “Free Enterprise,” “Introduction to SIFE,” “Halt the Deficit,” and “Citizens Against Waste.”
Mr. Ron Bell explained the Role of Price or Invisible Hand as called by Adam Smith, Market Process, Freedom of Choice, and Life of Competition in Free Enterprise ‘System, Introducing SIFE—Students in Free Enterprise to students, faculty, and visitors, Mr. Chanta stated that Mr. Robert C. “Sunny” Davis founded it in 1975. Within this short time, it has spread not only in the United States but to other countries also, At present, SIFE has over 50,000 members in more than 200 colleges and universities in the United States and also in other countries like Mexico and South Korea, From a very humble beginning, SIFE has become an international movement. It is becoming more popular every year because of its student-oriented Objectives of positive thinking and Creativity. Fifteen students from Wiley College, Marshall signed for SIFE membership when Mr. Chatha urged them to accept the SIFE. Challenge.
Mr. Chatha also presented the problem of Deficit Budget. He Pointed out that the Deficit for 1985 was220 billion dollars. If the deficit continues like this, it will Create problems of inflation, higher interest rates, increased demand for dollar and higher value of dollar, which will be good for travellers because of its higher buying power aboard but add to the increased unfavorable balance of payment.
The other SIFE members, Miss Cynthia Daniel, Veronica Grant, Cedric Gardner, Lisa Stephens, Kenneth Coleman, and Angie Thomas organized display, attended the students, staff, and faculty, who visited the display, completed Credit Card applications, signed the SIFECAW, “Citizens Against Waste” Petitions. Information about Free Enterprise, Introduction to SIFE, AND “Halt the Deficit” was picked up from 3:00 pm. to 5:00 p.m.
