PHAGWARA, Brilliant foot work, coupled with stamina and better training, enabled starstudded Jalandhar to with the 13th Senior Punjab Women’s Football Championship here.
Jalandhar scored a 31 victory over Kapurthala in the final which was played before a wildly cheering crowd.
Jalandhar led 20 at the interval. The Kapurthala team got many chances to score but their forwards muffed the chances. The Jaldhar forwards too could not convert several easy chances. Still, it ‘was the better team which won.
