NEW DELHI: All India Congress Committee has asked the Jain commission of inquiry to direct the Intelligence Bureau to file its report re grading the “activities” of the ten Zail Singh, former Union Ministers V.C. Shukla and Ashoke Sen and god man Chandraswami in attempting to dislodge the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1987.

‘AICC counsel R.N. Mittal, in an application before the commission obi the conspiracy aspects of Rajiv Gandhi assassination, has also sought summoning of CBI director K. Vijays Ramarao and SIT chief TR Kartikeyan.

“The AICC counsel! Has argued that the summoning of 1B records regarding the activities of Gian) Zail Singh, Shukla, Sen and Chandraswami around 1987 had become essential after the recent testimony of AICC general secretary S.S, Mahapatra. The commission will consider the application, when it is also scheduled to consider a plea of B.L, Wadhera, a party before the commission in which he has sought summoning of Union Home Minister $.B, Chavan, former Prime Minister V.P. Singh and several former top bureaucrats.

‘The commission has also asked former Prime Minister V.P. Singh, Chandraswami and former Cabinet Secretary V.C, Pande to submit their list of witnesses if Urey wanted to cross examine any.

Pande and Chandraswami have already deposed before the commission.
