MUMBAI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has directed former Surface Transport Minister, Jagdish Tytler, to appear in person, in Mumbai, for interrogation in connection with the fraudulent allocation of prime land by the Mumbai Port Trust and granting of favors to Khan Chaudhary, Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal’s daughter-in-law. Tytler will be questioned at Tanna House in Mumbai soon. Chaudhary, along with high profile Maharashtra Chief Secretary, Dinesh Afzalpurkar, are among those accused in the case. Afzalpurkar was the chairman of the Mumbai Port Trust in 1993 when the land was allotted to Chaudhary on lease. Afzalpurkar is reported to have disclosed to the CBI, during sustained interrogation that he leased out prime land to Chaudhary at the instance of Jagdish Tytler and provided vital evidence in support of his statement.
