VANCOUVER: International Sikh Youth federation hold meeting to mark International Sikh Youth Federation anniversary of June 1984 (Canada) Sub-Unit Vancouver recently held a general Membership meeting to mark the anniversary of the June of 1984 attacks on Hariminder Sahib Akal Takhat Sahib and the simultaneous attacks on 37 other Gurdwaras.
In a written statement Bhai Ranjit Singh president ISYF subunit Vancouver said that on this black day the Sikh Nation around the world realized they can no longer live under the Brahmin dictated government of India Al though our intellectual Sikhs have always known that our faith and way of life have been under attack since India’s independence day they were not aware of the dangers Our community was in until Tune of 1984.
One of the topics discussed at this annual meeting was that our Akali leadership was much to blame for that attack because they failed 16 preaches our problems to the public congregations.
Similarly they were so busy with their own affairs that they failed to promote or publicize the Sikh Reyat Maryada (the Sikh code of Conduct or the constitution for a Sikh) passed by the Panth Today we are seeing the effects of both of these problems.
The Brahmin Government controlled agencies have used these facts to dismember and divide our community. We are witnessing different types of dhera’s being built around the world and coming into existence to further divide us. This problem originates and starts in India these so-called saints are sent here with clear directions to somehow divide us here so that we can waste our energy by fighting amongst ourselves. We must educate the public and put a stop to the sponsoring of these so called Saints. A difficult task indeed seeing that most of the Gurdwara that are in the control of simple minded Sikhs are sponsoring the visits of most of these people.
At this meeting some of the resolutions and commitments made were as follows:
We salute all those Singh’s and Sighnies that laid down their lives to protect the Sikh faith in the June 0f 1984 attacks on our holy shrines and all those who have attained Martyrdom since then struggling to liberate our homeland.
Our sympathies go out to all those innocent victims of state terrorism by the Government of India and its agencies.
Our sympathies go out to all those innocent Singh’s and Singhnies who are languishing in Jails.
Recognition goes out to all the Human Rights groups working to portray the denial of Human Rights in India.
Recognition to all those brothers and sisters in the U.S.A. who are lobbying for the release of Bhai Ranjit Singh Gill and Bhai Sukhminder Singh Sandhu jailed in New York. As well as other brothers and sisters in foreign jails.
Recognize the Panthak Committee as the International Political Party of the Sikh nation.
Give our commitment to the cause of Khalistan and to the leaders of the Sikh Nation.
Give our gratitude and commitment to the parents and family members of all who have attained Martyrdom. As well as the six members of I.S.Y.F. Canada who left a good life here to achieve Martyrdom in India for the sake of Khalistan.
To work for Panthak Unity within our community both local and International.
To hold a conference on June 71992 to mark the anniversary of the June of 1984 Ghaloogara.
In closing of discussions it was felt that we need to appeal to all innocent Sikhs to recognize that the Indian Government is and has been sending their agents here to divide the Sikh community on matters such as Maryada We need to recognize that we are in a war with the Indian Government and that currently our most important issue is to create a Homeland where we are safe to practice our way of life and live freely with no danger of being victimized by state repression. Until then we should not create any confrontations within our own Community Any matters which are in dispute can be settled in a civilized manner by calling a Sarbat Khalsa at Akal Takhat Sahib where all intellectual members of our nation can be invited and decide freely with the support of all our brothers and sisters in our Independent State of Khalistan when it comes into existence. Until our nation is free it is imperative that we unite and Support our forces in the battlefield. At the same time we must also get educated on our faith so that we do not perform any wrong Fituals or ceremonies which are forbidden in our Gurdwaras
