ISLAMABAD: Foreign ministers of the 51nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) last week requested the OIC secretary general to send a three member fact-finding mission to assess the Kashmir situation which it said was causing tension between India and Pakistan, reports AFR.
Winding up a three-day emergency session here, the conference asked its member states to “persuade India” to allow the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination as mandated by UN Security Council resolutions.
‘The conference also decided to establish an OIC contact group on. Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations “for promoting the night of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.”
Qn Afghanistan, the mini consensus is among the Mujahedeen factions and for a credible intra Afghan process for restoring peace.
The conference “strongly condemned” Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and decided to coordinate an OIC stand on the issue al the United Nations.
‘The conference rejected as absolutely unacceptable easing of existing sanctions on Serbia and Montenegro.
