BAGHDADMIDDLE EAST: U.N. weapons inspectors started scouring Iraqi rivers lakes and canals Nov.9 checking the samples for radiation to determine whether Iraq has any secret nuclear facilities.

The 32-member team led by Dimitri Perricos of Greece also visited the wreckage of a former Iraqi nuclear facility bombed by allied forces during the Persian Gulf War to see whether it was being reactivated.

Perricos said he asked again for a list of foreign companies that supplied Iraq with atomic technology but was not optimistic the Iraqis would provide it.
