COLOMBO: The Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) has vacated most of the areas in Jaffna Penisula from elephant pass to Chavakachcheri and is expected to vacate the entire district by the middle of February, Sri Lankan foreign Minister and cabinet spokesman Ranjan wijeratne said here Thursday.
Addressing the weekly post-cabinet news conference, the minister said Sri Lankan police had taken over the maintenance of law.
