NEW DELHI-The Supreme Court Thurs- day put its seal of approval on the voters’ list for the elections to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) scheduled for April 28 in Calcutta.

A division bench comprising chief justice Ranganath Mishra, justice M.H.Kania and Justice Kuldeep Singh, while approving the voters’ list, said it would be valid even if it was not verified by the presidents and secretaries of various affiliated associations.

The list, which has 123 voters, was pre- pared by justice A.D.Kaushal, a former Supreme Court judge, appointed earlier by the Apex court to hold the elections.

The court also directed the west Bengal government to provide adequate security for holding the elections to the IOA.
