NEW DELHI: Inderjeet Gupta, the deputy general secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), was Friday elected the party’s parliamentary leader, it was announced here.
The election followed the party’s central executive committee meeting, at which election results were reviewed and the present political situation was discussed, CPI sources said.
The details of the CEC meeting were, however, not available.
