NEW DELHI: An impressive display of India’s defence preparedness marked the 47th Republic Day parade on the Rajpath in the capital this week.

‘AS the devastating war machines of the three wings of the armed forces the Army, the Navy and the Air Force rolled past the saluting dals on the Rajpath, spectators watched spell bound the might of the fourth largest Army of the world.

‘The star attractions of this year 5 parade were India’s Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun, die lethal surface to surface missile Prithvi and the grand finale, the fly past by fighters, bombers ‘and Transport aircraft of the Air Force, The low fly past by 40 frontline fighters and transport aircraft, including MIG29s, the Jaguar, the giant 1176 (Gajraj), AN32s and Dornier’s.
