SHILLONG (PTI): With barely four days left for filing of papers, nominations for the February 15 elections to the assemblies in the north eastern Indian states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland continued to tickle in by fits and starts.

The Congress-I was yet to finalize its list of candidates in Tripura, Meghalaya or Nagaland. In Nagaland, under president’s rule since April 2 last, the elections would restore the democratic process. But no nomination papers had been filed ye. The Nagaland people’s partly was expected to release its final list in a day or two while the newly formed demo critic labor party planned to contest 10 seats.

Meghalaya, splintered by recent ethnic upheavals, reported filing of 21 nomination papers the highest number in the three states So far. Prominent personalities Were State home minister, O.L Nongtdu and minister for soil conservation, H.B.Dan.
