NEW DELHI: India’s media leader, Times of India, has editorially suggested a postponement of Punjab elections for a few weeks to persuade Akalis to rejoin the electoral process. The newspaper, however suggested the implementation of the anti-Punjab Rajiv-Longowal accord and through it an economic and political “package” for Punjab. Meanwhile, the pro-police Pheruman Dal chief Mahant Sewa Dass also pleaded for putting off the poll and a package for Punjab.
