NEW DELHI, July 14, Reuter: Rain has finally deluged India’s Western desert State of Rajasthan after four years ‘of drought when even camels had to leave, the Press Trust of India said on Thursday. The news agency said some parts of the State got over eight inches of rain in the past 24 hours.
Until the monsoon arrived, famine camps had been set up and townspeople had been getting only a trickle of water from their taps every few days.
The agency said weather forecasters predicted moderate to heavy rain in Rajasthan over the next 24 hours.
