NEW DELHI: Indian President S.D. Sharma fell flat near Rajiv Gandhi’s Samadhi while laying wreaths on the occasion of Gandhi’s death anniversary, His military secretary as well as his wife and onlookers unsuccessfully tried to prevent him from falling. The Indian government authorities denied the President suffered from any health problems. Evidently, Sharma is too old to perform all the ceremonies associated with his office without fatigue. He could barely walk properly. That is why, according to reports, the Indian government-owned television network has decided not to project him walking. Several newspapers front-paged pictures of Sharma falling flat on the earth near the Gandhi memorial.
