NEW DELHI: The BJP August 6 urged the Prime Minister, P.V.Narasimha Rao, to give a call of ‘Quit India Territory’ on the day the country would celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ‘Quit India movement’ this month since several parts of the country remained in authorized possession of neighboring countries.
In a letter to Rao, the party vice president, K.L.Sharma, said it was regrettable that even after 45 years of independence, many parts of the country remained in unauthorized occupation of Pakistan, China and Bangladesh. The unanimous resolution adopted by Parliament on November 8,1962 that every inch of Indian territory would be reclaimed was yet to be implemented, he said.
It is equally said that in the intervening period no serious efforts were made to liberate pans of our lost territory, While it has been clearly established that Pakistan is waging a proxy war against India and is openly meddling in our internal matters by aiding and abetting the militants, we have failed to evolve a concrete Pakistan policy to effectively counter the unfriendly onslaught,” Sharma stated in the letter.
