DHAKA (PTI): Bangladesh has lodged a protest with India against ‘What it alleged intrusion by Indian air force planes in to Bangladesh airspace Hast week the foreign ministry said.
It was urged that such incident which anniversary affect bilateral relations should not recur said a brief statement by the ministry.
I stressed the need for restraint and Caution. Earlier Bangladesh conveyed its protest against the reported ‘instruction at a battalion-level flag meeting between Indian border security force and Bangladesh rifles recently ‘home ministry sources were quoted by a reliable source as saying.
Reports in Dhaka alleged that three Indian MIG fighters violated Bangladesh airspace over Lalmonirhat district bordering west Bengal’s Coochbehar district amidst mounting tension at Burimari border after Indian authorities objected to the construction of an embankment by Bangladesh water development board along Dharala River.
Meanwhile reports in Dhaka on April 30 said tension continued to reign at Burimari border with Indian BSF and BDR presence.
According to reports from Lalmonirhat although BSF dismantled the bunkers constructed within 50 yards of the zero point they were building new ones close to the border.
The reports said from Burimari 95 Kins from Lalmonirhat town saw deployment of BSF personnel armed with heavy weapons along a five kilometer-stretch of the border from Burimari to Panisala (see following story)
