NEW DELHI, Nov 4, Reuter: Indian members of parliament on Thursday voted themselves a 50 percent pay rise, doubled their daily allowances and lengthened their list of privileges, United News of India said:
The pay hike, which gives the nation’s 778 MP’s a monthly salary of 1,150 rupees (103 dollars), cost 40 million rupees (2.7 million dollars), parliamentary Minister HK. Bhagat told parliament.
