KUALA LUMPUR: Indian proposals to induct the services of Indian doctors to meet the severe shortage of medical personnel in the country.
A team of medical specialist who had visited India in September to evaluate the courses offered by Indian medical institutions has recommended that the best way out of the present crisis in Malaysian medical institutions would be to enlist the services of Indian specialists.
Malaysia currently requires about 1,000 doctors to overcome shortages in hospitals and medical colleges. One of the considerations that go in favor of Indian doctors is the low salary at which Indian medical personnel can be engaged compared to western doctors.
