NEW DELHI: For the first time India will compete in the federation cup NEC tennis tournament for women.
R.K.Khanna secretary-general of the all India tennis association (ATTA) said here Monday Leela Sun took would be the nonplaying captain of the team.
The other members of the team are Aradhana Reddy Divya Merchant K. Janaki and Sohini Kumari.
Khanna said 56 countries would take part in the competition the Davis Cup for women beginning at Nottingham (England) from July 21 to 28.
Participation in the Federation Cup would enable the Indian women to take part in the tennis tournament at the Barcelona Olympic Games next year.
