BOMBAY (PTI): An undersea fiber optic cable project of the Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) providing India with global connectivity is expected to be installed by March 1994, VSNL Chairman and managing director, B.K.Syngal, said here Nov.25.

The project which entailed an investment of U.S. dollars 75 million will enable high speed data transmission from India to Singapore and countries such as USA, Australia, Japan Korea, Taiwan and Mainland China through interconnecting cable links, Syngal said inaugurating a three-day international conference on globalization of computer and communication. The submarine fiber optic cable project will provide active communication by May 1994.
