NEW DELHI: India is to export defence goods worth over Rupees 1.35 billion during the current year and the items include Dornier aircraft, spare parts of MIG series of aircraft and other wide ranging products,

This was announced Wednesday by federal minister of state for defence, Dr Raja Ramanna at a stormy parliamentary consultative committee meeting of his ministry here which was marked by walk ‘out by Congress (I) M.P’S.

The members of parliament were protesting against the absence of Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh from the meeting as he holds the additional charge of defence. The minister told the M.P’S that government had also cleared export of weapon systems and “battle field management system” adding that this would be only done on “government to government basis.”
