NEW DELHI: India has tight- ended security arrangements on the orders of Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya after reports that 200 militants from the north-eastern states are returning after training from across Burma and Bangladesh.

According to official sources, a high level coordination meeting of police chiefs of the crisis ridden states will be held ate rthis month to counter the challenge.

 Meanwhile, India is extending the army’s operation against ULFA to cover Bodo rebels who too are regrouping. The Assam chief minister claimed success of the “operation rhino”.
