SINGAPORE (PTI): Singapore and India are set to exchange trade missions in the coming months to finalize a number of investment and economic proposals studied by two sides during this week’s visit of Indian power corporate delegation. Leader of the delegation and president of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jamshyd Godrej said Singapore market provides tremendous opportunities for the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation.
Godrej said the delegation comprising of 16 top policy making executives from 13 large Indian companies had extensive talks with senior officials of the state Tun economic development board and trade development board and the manufactures association.
This resulted in identifying various projects in construction, food processing, electronics, auto parts and many other sectors.
The Indian industrialists also had meetings with Prime Minister Goh Chong Tong, trade and industry minister S.Dhanabalan and second foreign minister George Yeo. Yeorecently headed an economic delegation to India that generated considerable interests among Singapore businessmen to work closely with their counterparts in India.
