The matter had been taken up with the Pakistan foreign secretary in Islamabad and its high commissioner here to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future, an external affairs ministry spokesman said at a press briefing here.
The spokesman said the incidents of harassment of family members of the Indian mission staff were particularly regrettable as these had come so soon after the constructive exchange of views between the prime ministers of the two countries at male on November 22.
Reports here said the wife of an Indian attach was forcibly picked up by two plain clothes men while she was going to the market in Islamabad on November 26. She was detained for two hours and interrogated by four men, including one in police uniform.
