ISLAMABAD: India Thursday voiced concern over the recent provocative statements made against it by the Pakistan army chief Gen. Mirza Aslam Beg.
The Indian high commissioner in Islamabad J.N.Dixit called on the secretary general of foreign affairs Akram Zaki and the acting foreign secretary Inam ul Haq at the foreign office to seek clarifications over the statements made by the Pakistan army chief.
Gen.Beg had recently spoken about heightened tension along the Indo-Pak borders on shadows of war appearing as a result of fast changing events in the region and stated that the freedom struggle in Jammu and Kashmir had reached its final stage. He had also said that the presence of Israeli commandos in the valley amply spoke of the enemy designs.
Diksh it stressed that such negative publicity would only harm the process of normalization of bilateral relations which were currently being undertaken by the two countries
ISLAMABAD; The Senate Saturday passed s constitutional amendment allowing the govt to suspend the Supreme Court and establish special courts in terrorist affected areas. The government wants to deal with terrorists and miscreants with an iron hand and to ensure provision of quick justice to the people Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif told the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan.
The amendment allows the govt to suspend the Supreme Court and establish special courts in areas of the country designated as terrorist effected areas.
